About NilPDF

A free PDF toolkit that processes your files on your own device.

What NilPDF is

NilPDF is a collection of PDF tools — merge, split, compress, convert, watermark, redact, fill forms, and more — that run entirely inside your web browser. There's no upload step: your browser reads the file, a Python PDF engine compiled to WebAssembly processes it locally, and the result downloads directly back to you.

Why it was built

Most "free online PDF tool" sites require uploading your document to a server you don't control, often to process something as simple as merging two files or removing a page. For sensitive documents — contracts, financial records, medical paperwork — that's a real privacy tradeoff for a task that doesn't need it. NilPDF exists to remove that tradeoff: the processing happens on your device, so there's no server-side copy of your document to worry about.

Who maintains it

NilPDF is built and maintained by K Digital Systems LLC.

How it's funded

NilPDF is free to use, with no account required and no per-use limits. The project is currently self-funded.

What NilPDF does not do

NilPDF does not upload, store, or retain your PDF files or their contents.
NilPDF does not require an account or sign-up to use any tool.
NilPDF does not insert promotional branding into your documents unless you explicitly opt in.
NilPDF does not guarantee recovery of severely damaged files, nor perfect results for every PDF variant — see each tool's stated limitations.
